A stray mother dog in Marol had her head stuck in a PVC pipe for hours. Despite the agony, she returned to feed her puppies. The Awaaz team reached the location in pitch darkness and heavy rain to perform the rescue.

Two newborn puppies were accidentally flushed down a public toilet in Saki Naka. In a 4-hour joint operation with the Fire Brigade, Awaaz volunteers helped break the toilet unit to pull the pups out safely.

A leopard strayed into the commercial hub of Andheri East (Seepz) and attacked stray dogs. Awaaz was the first responder, administering first aid to the injured animals and calming the panic among locals.

Following the rescue of three obese dogs, the owners (three sisters) apologized and took them back under police undertaking. Awaaz monitored the health of the surviving pets to ensure their well-being.

During heavy rains in Goregaon, 400 buffaloes were trapped in a submerged shed. Awaaz volunteers rushed to the spot with pumps to flush out water and rescue the animals.

Security guards killed a stray dog in Oshiwara, but police refused to file an FIR. Awaaz activists visited the crime scene and escalated the matter to the Police Commissioner for justice.

Awaaz organized a free medical camp for strays in suburban Mumbai, treating over 50 animals for skin infections, wounds, and deworming in a single day.

While the headlines celebrate our victories, the daily battle is harder than it looks. Mumbai's traffic and construction often slow down our "on-spot" treatment calls, making every minute critical.
Beyond the logistics, the cost of compassion is rising. Veterinary fees, X-rays, MRIs, and surgeries at private clinics have become extremely expensive. As a non-profit, balancing these costs while recruiting dedicated medical staff remains our biggest challenge.
